My Idea (Sexual Violence Against Woman)

June 2, 2009 by

domestic_violence6_1Sexual violence against woman in the middle east

What means the sexual violence?

What are the types of sexual violence?

What’s the main problem can the women faced if they suffers from sexual violence?

How we can reach those women and can give them our supports

How we can convince those women to talk about there suffering

How we reach the public opinion and make attention about the object or the issue

Our tools

The main tool can make big affected in people as I think is the media especially radio stations (this about Gaza strip) this thing may be by making programs through radio and invite some of those women to talk about there suffering in this object and this encourage others women to sharing in these program.

We can also reach those woman through  send sms to all numbers like dial with the connection company in the target place.

Make commercial declaration and posters in news papers and magazines to point to these issue.

And also we have to
Launch companies through print and broadcasting media.

We have to use internet techniques to talk about these issues.

We have to keep in touch with a lot of organization can support this issues and can support us.

The solution or the target

All of us know that this object very difficult to talking about in middle east especially in Gaza and I hope we can have care houses can support these women and give them the help and support.

I mean about care house this is like organization can provide for those women psychology and sociology caring , we can also think about help these women to make there future through support them financially .

Support them by try to have solutions about there problem if the solutions can be available.

Organized our working through this project to make very effectively work.

What could be more challenging then a snow storm in summer?

June 2, 2009 by

YES!! I love my team… And no! It is not because we are the best team neither because we knew each other before nor because we go out everyday together… But rather because we make a lot of mistakes, we deal with a lot of issues; we face a lot of challenges. Yet, we still TRY…

We believe that we, the challengers, are challenging ourselves first! And challenging each other second! Somehow, we managed to keep it all together after passing through our own snow storm; a snow storm in which we were about to lose one of us in the mountains of misunderstanding, under and over the piles of ignorance; blindness but still trying to see each other’s added value, speechless but still trying to express each other’s worries, scared but still trying to defeat our fears and meet the other.
We are trying to find the rope…

I feel lucky we are in such a challenging environment. And I feel happy that with all these snow balls hitting us, we were still able to find sometime and make a snow man together! :) We took silly photos at 01.00 am in the morning, we hugged in the most emotional hard moments when you just cry and feel lonely, and we talked about family issues… couple issues… all issues..

Living in a warm country and travelling to cold countries only in summer, I have to admit that owing to you my team, I finally saw something I had on my dream agenda but only realized it now: SEE SNOW!! :)

Team Challenge road to success

Manifesto!

May 29, 2009 by

“Coming together is a beginning.  Keeping together is progress.  Working together is success.” Kenyan Proverb

  • Unity is key. Not all people will end up completely satisfied all the time. That’s okay. But remember to take each person’s input and value it. Don’t overstep your boundaries on any level be it leadership or as a team player.
  • Remember the GOAL.

“Getting good players is easy.  Getting them to play together is the hard part.”Casey Stengel

Essentials of a group

  1. Social interaction
  2. Stable structure
  3. Common interests
  4. Perceive themselves as part of group

Communication and coordination

  • We start or end work sessions with a short reflection, when needed.
  • If we feel that we have to talk about something specific with someone, we can allways ask to go one on one with that person and have a personal-feedback-session.
  • When we talk with eachother, we try to do it with a positive attitude.
  • When we are in the big group we talk in turns, and listen to each other.

Working process

  • When we decide a time for a meeting, we respect it and be there in time.
  • We have meeting rules: When we start a meeting, we begin to set the time frame of that meeting and what the specific meeting is going to be about.
  • We share ideas with each other and have a supportive attitude.
  • When someone gives a suggestion regarding ideas regarding the project or giving ideas about the project, we vote on it. Majority of votes wins.
  • We make lists of tasks and we choose tasks, that can teach us something new. Which means that we don’t always do the things we have good knowledge in from the beginning. We try new stuff!
  • We practice commitment to the work we do, by respecting the tasks – even if we like the tasks or don’t like the tasks.
  • Documentation of the process by taking pictures, notes and videos: is everyone’s responsibility.

Roles

  • We want to try new and different roles, and therefore we don’t want a fixed hierarchy with the same leader, or the same facilitator and so on…
  • We don’t have one leader, we are doing this together as a team and the mission itself is our leader!
  • Together we decide WHAT we do and we help each other do decide HOW to do it.
  • We help ourselves and each other to keep in mind that we are not in competition with each other.

Fun stuff!

  • We use energizers and games for team and trust-building.
  • We also have our own things like, “hatehugs” (if one is angry with someone you hug him/her), “lovethumbs” (when ones agree on something someone says, go thumbs up! So you won’t interrupt).
